The Lone Soldier

The lone soldier tread lightly
as the enemy lie in wait
Taken alive was not a choice
and Survival against Fate.

He clutched his rifle in position
with a prayer on his lips
His eye caught movement
around the trigger tightened his grip.

Suddenly something whizzed past him
on the earth fell a drop of his blood
A deafening sound and the impact
a large hole in the soft mud!

The shrapnel lodged in his arm
and still he maintained his resistance
a gun battle ensued as the bullets
missed him by a distance!

The enemy was larger in number,
as blood thirsty as they were
To protect his motherland
courage he began to muster!

And then when he ran out of ammunition,
with a knife in his hand
He crept and sneaked to the enemy
making his final stand.

But victory would never be his
as the enemy surrounded him
At a time when his body gave up
and his condition grim.

He died a martyr,
he fought till his dying breath
He fought for his motherland
and became one with her in death!

All Those Thoughts Were Gone

It was forever late again
as i waited on the platform
The trains followed this rigid practice
as if some unknown norm!

The station alive, inch by inch
lacking the commodity, space
The sea of humanity thundering
on, at an incredibly feverish pace!

From this thunder i heard it
heard that melodious golden voice
So pure and so filled with truth
it bought to a standstill the noise!

A little girl, dressed in rags
directing a man, blind
As his voice brought about inner peace
touching hearts and minds.

But the spell lasted only two minutes
broken by coins thrown down
The crowds footsteps heard again
with that irritating thundering sound!

I stood there watching those two
pickup those fallen coins some how
Thoughts of helping them came
and i had to help them now!

But then the crowds direction changed
swaying to the new come train's horn
And i suddenly got onto that train
AND ALL THOSE THOUGHTS WERE GONE!

A tale of how our motherland went from one to three!

This is a tale spanning ages
of great lives and death
Of how we struggled against fate
and our true destinies we met!

Strangled and choked by forces
both divisive and foreign
These shackles broken by the struggle,
sacrifices of countless men and women!

But before she could witness
freedom's rising Sun
Cries of war sounded in the air
threatening our Unity as One!

She saw her children fight each other
as villages burned, millions killed
As they bayed for the others blood,
blood of innocents spilled!

Rivers of blood choked her veins
as she was cut by divisive forces
For years she had withstood them
but now they had run their courses!

A part of her was hacked
on the altar of these wars
Boundaries drawn on her
one her numerous battle scars!

Now she had become two
but more wars were to come
Spreading like a plague in her
for the sake of Freedom!

Ages later the wounds of
the past were opened up again
Two would become three now
as forever she would be maimed!

She became free for us
but if we care to see
Her scars still fresh on the map
As SHE WENT FROM ONE to THREE!

Excruciating pain!

I lie now on my own
as good as dead
An object unmovable by life
stuck to his wretched bed!

I lived a life of dreams
reality all of them made
But now they are just memories
as i feel my life fade!

If only they had got what they wanted
alas, this cruel fate of mine
If only they had stuck around
I may have been just fine!

But here i am all alone with
death as a companion of mine
As life and death so close
by, just a fine line!

This excruciating pain subsides
it is already so death like
I only pray for those poor doctors
for the reasons they went on strike!

Known, fated encounters

We saw each other in an auction
a radiant smile on her face shown
In her eyes only i resided
her smile for me alone!

I knew it was love at first sight
her smile had driven me insane
For i only looked forward
to seeing her again!

I did see her again, in a
ball room party this time
Her beauty stunningly ravishing
but still subtle and sublime!

I tried to look away, but
her eyes caught mine
A brighter smile flashed
much more radiant and divine!

I knew now for sure
and was swept of my feet
For i knew she was mine
and my heart skipped a beat!

I moved towards her
but she moved away
The courage i had gathered
vanished to my dismay!

But wine was always there
and in one giant swig
My distress gone up in smoke
its effects strong and big!

I marched to her and said
'My lady, your number please'
She stared and said 'Quit stalking
me pervert or i shall call the police!

My drunk head thought
Was i really stalking her
Or were these really known,
FATED ENCOUNTERS!

The tale of an orphan boy who became a great hero!

Located within the scenic hills
lies a beautiful,little village
Dating hundreds of years back
lost within history's numerous pages!

In this village there lived
an unwanted orphan child
When the land needed him most
its fate he would decide!

Nobody knew to whom he was born
and he never had a place to live
Surviving on whatever he found
and leftovers what others had to give!

The land was terrorized by
bandits, notorious in name
Cruel and merciless in motives
top predators of their game!

Their sight now on this village
as others they looted and burned
This news spread like wild fire
and of this the villagers learned!

A meeting was called but no
defensive plans were made
They knew time was running
out before the bandits' raid!

Night fell and the bandits reached,
a deserted village they found
They let loose on the village
their vicious pack of hounds!

The hounds roared and caught
a scent and whimpered and howled
A smoke extremely pungent
and extremely foul!

Stones were being thrown and
pebbles were being shot
In this barrage the bandits
were caught!

Screams of pain and howls
from burns shot up at the sky
Seeing all this smiling, the boy
  upon a tree branch high!

The bandits kept running about
their horses being reined in
Thud, they fell into a trap
into the deep ground within!

The battle was up, the bandits
were caught, the villagers in shock
The orphan boy for the coming
months became the village talk!

Years passed, he became the chief
of numerous villages around
His rule peaceful and prosperous
where greatness was found!

He never had a family 'today'
but he had many for him 'tomorrow'
SO here is 'the tale of an orphan
 who became a GREAT HERO'!

And people say i cannot see!

As i walk in the temple
i can hear the poor outside
As poverty rages and devotees leave
'Please,i have'nt eaten for days' they cried!

I walk on my way back
having done some good
Giving those people in need
some amount of money and food.

But as i walk, the roads uneven
i suddenly trip on the road
Horns blare behind me in a hurry
and so many abuses are heard!

A kind soul helps me up
and asks, 'Are you fine'
I smile back and nod
as i wipe out dirt and grime!

I am on the main road
and a traffic cop takes a bribe
The motorist mumbles words
hard to describe!

I am about to reach when
a man shouts out
'I am unemployed, i cannot live
as offices push me about'!

I have heard enough and reply
'You should decide better
and see life is sweet, especially
to those,who are go-getters'!

I have come to the place
to vote i have reached
But no body seems there
so no line to be breached!

I am heckled by a man
and back i shout
People gather at my voice
both strong and loud!

I have seen corruption,sexism
unemployment and poverty
And people who notice my eyes
say I CANNOT SEE!
