The slave of fate

The setting Sun, I rise to see
Another day lost to me
As I waste away in my bound state
As I curse away my imposing fate

My life has gone as the Fates had planned
Those shattered dreams built so grand
And I realized a bit too late
That I was but a slave of fate

What shall happen was written in the past
And so when the dice is cast
I act when bound by chains
For a puppet of fate I remain

But no matter what the Fates have in store
There are those who show the Fates the door
For in the present, every minute their own
They choose to defy what was inscribed on stone

For the Fates weave our very World
But defying them isn't unheard
For however fateful things may seem
We live to fulfil our very dreams

The night is full of terrors

The enemy had fled, the battle done
The king rode in, the war was won
A feast awaited the victors home
The day was theirs, that was known

The castle stood upon mountainous heights
Untouched, conversing with limitless skies
Music, food and drunken guests
The Sun joined not, heading west

The creeping black, the setting Sun
The ominous night belonged to none
Its traitorous steps masked by the feast
The untouchable castle had been breached

Beside the king, a shadow crept
Bringing forth terrible death
Wails and screams echoed around
Then everything still without a sound

The king lay dying, a song on his lips
Bloodied, a dagger between his ribs
His guests, his guards all poisoned to death
By the cook, a dishonourable wretch

The war was won, yet defeat he met
The king smiled in his death
For victory without honour was never sweet
For traitors this night would repeat

A conversation between a client and an advocate

A man storms an advocate's office in distress-
Man- Vakil Sahib, mujhe insaaf chahiye!

Advocate(stunned by the entry)- The judge will deliver that, but i sure as hell will strive for justice on your behalf. What happened?

Man- Vakil Sahib, what has not happened! I want to file a lawsuit against the local authorities and their Anti-Romeo Squad!

Advocate(nodding)- Yes they may cause trouble. How did they trouble you?

Man- Their activities have defamed me, harassed me and hounded me for months! I wanted to marry a girl and now she refuses to see my face. I want to file a defamation suit against them.

Advocate- Oh, that is sad. Truly very sad. Have they assaulted you?

Man- They haven't assaulted me, but they assault the very name I bear every single day!

Advocate- Slander! I see, very grave indeed! Any particular statements they use to tarnish your name?

Man- Their very name tarnishes my name, Vakil Sahib!

Advocate(slightly confused)- I am sorry, i don't quite understand.

Man- Anti-ROMEO Squad, Vakil Sahib! Anti-ROMEO!

Advocate(taken aback).

Man- My name is Romeo, the name my parents so lovingly kept. Now after the activities of these Anti-Romeo Squads, everyone sees me and laughs. I can't even approach a girl now without her making fun of my name! It is a crime to bear the name of Romeo!

The advocate immediately starts scribbling something and the man looks forward to the advice. The advocate gives the chit to the client and concludes the delivery of his services.

Advocate- My fees is two hundred rupees.

Man(stares at the chit)- But Vakil Sahib, there is only a mobile number written on this piece of paper.

Advocate- That is not an ordinary mobile number my friend. It is my friend's number who works at the Gazette! Get your name changed!
