The eyes that reflected truth

He really NEEDED IT!Raghav would never see the world again with those beautiful blue eyes of his after that miserable day his life encountered twenty years back. The doctors had ruled out the return of his eyesight. But that was not to affect Raghav as he grew up to be a confident, handsome young man on whose stunning looks girls swooned at and which men his age glared at.Raghav was a brilliant student with a little extra help from his teachers and a lot more effort from him.
Raghav being the only child of a middle class family had been treated very normally by his parents. He had his own friends circle, got around without much help and always prided himself on his ability to do things which his fellow blind had a hard time doing.
So what was it that Raghav needed so badly!Well Raghav had just attained his MBA degree from a high ranking B-School based on a scholarship. Now armed with this he wanted to start his own business which he planned to expand enough to be the largest in his town. But his dream was not shared by others. They mocked him, banks refused to loan him money and his family and relatives just did not have enough capital. It was this capital that Raghav needed.
Even his family asked him to drop his idea. His father cited his blindness as the main reason and said,"Son why do you want to pursue an impossible dream which will only break your heart."To this Raghav replied,"Father I just need a chance after getting that chance I will think of the consequences."But Raghav knew that just  passion and hard work would not help him, what he needed was the capital.Raghav had even considered working in  small shops to earn the money but once again due to his blindness nobody offered him a job.
Finally Raghav thought that it was of no use and he decided to give up his dream. It seemed to him that all his life he would be destined to live in the shadow of his family.Would they be able to support him for all his life? Was he that worthless that nobody was ready to give him a chance?
As he was thinking he thought of going to his favorite park.he easily found his way to the park without anybody's help. After all he had been going to the park for years. The park was a beautiful one with a wide variety of flowered and aesthetic plants planted along the sides of a central pond which housed a number of colorful fishes. Its boundaries were marked by four Gulmohar and two Palm trees. It was quiet and peaceful which always allowed Raghav to push out negative thoughts
and calm down.Raghav always tried to visualize what the park was like.He was so busy visualizing he did not notice a person coming and sitting down beside him. When the person coughed it suddenly startled Raghav and he reacted so.The person then enquired,"What young man never seen another man before."To this Raghav apologized stating that he was blind. The stranger taken aback in return apologized for not having noticed. After that they got into a conversation in which Raghav eventually told the stranger about his problems.Raghav did not know whether it was the park or the caring nature of the stranger that prompted him to do so.Raghav felt light after pouring his heart out to the stranger. The stranger after listening to the story suddenly came up with a proposition. He asked Raghav,"Would you consider working for me."This time Raghav was taken aback. Was this man a fraud or just plain crazy!Raghav daringly asked,"How would I ?"The old man laughed and said,"Well boy if you can find your way then two streets from the park is my shop which occupies the whole block!"Raghav could not believe it he was talking to Keshavlal  the man who owned all the seven shops on the block and was one of the biggest businessman in the town. The old man left laving Raghav awestruck.
The next day Raghav visited the block and asked the lady working on the counter where he could find Mr Keshavlal. The lady directed him to the fifth floor of the building where Mr Keshavlal's office was located. On seeing him Mr Keshavlal immediately told him to start his job as the store manager of the electronics store which Raghav took up willingly that very day.Working with passion and dedication Raghav despite his blindness handled the store very well and became a hit with the customers.Within five years he was already managing four out of the seven and within another five he was Mr Keshavlal's right hand man. When time came for Mr Keshavlal's retirement he handed over the reins of his business to Raghav.
Finally Raghav got the courage to ask why had Mr Keshavlal given him a chance when others refused.Mr Keshavlal answered,"I did not see your blindness like others did.Your eyes could not see but your eyes did reflect your dreams and ambitions, but most of all YOUR EYES REFLECTED TRUTH."
