Christmas is Here!

Bells are ringing
Choirs singing
End of year
Christmas is here!

Old and young
All have fun
Festive fever
Christmas is here!

A sheet of white
As far as our sight
Frost appears
Christmas is here!

Joy is spread
'Merry Christmas' is said
As traditions endear
Christmas is here!

Holy night
The Birth of Christ
Hear, Hear
For Christmas is here!

Gifts are given
Santa's sleigh is driven
By four reindeer
Christmas is here!

Christmas trees
And festivities
Distances clear
Christmas is here!

Naughty become nice
Sugar and spice
Wishes are sincere
Christmas is here!

Carols are sung
By old and young
With loved ones, dear
When Christmas is here!

So laugh and sing
When Santa brings
Your gifts and cheer
For Christmas is here!

Judgement Day

The Skies turned a bloody red
The belching grounds tore open
Helpless screams heard in the air
Giving way to  destruction

Proud structures reduced to rubble
Thousands of cars swallowed up whole
The Lord's rage poured down on Earth
Just as it had been foretold

Man now as weak as a bug
Turned to the hostile skies
But his pleas never reached
For deaf ears received his cries

The sleeping giant finally awoke
As the Earth let out a deathly roar
With rivers of lava shooting out
From the very depths of its active core

Forests burned to ashes turned
As life burned to exist
The seas let out monster waves
Causing the continental drift

The Earth took on its burning mantle
As Judgement Day had arrived
The forces of Nature ravaged on
Until there was no sign of life

And now the Earth was young again
With creation to commence
With seeds of new life to be sown
To be followed by new events

26/11-the black day

26/11-The black day

Mumbai had never seen a blacker day
With an attack aimed at its heart
The very ripples of the attack
Tore its very fabric apart

Cowards of men sneaked in
The deathly silence of the night
And then marched, killing innocents
Coming within their sight

Taking Mumbai as hostage
Thus holding it to ransom
Striking terror, their motive
In a fashion most gruesome

But our men in uniform
Mobilized and rushed to the city’s aid
From the constables of the police force
To the commandos of military grade

They engaged the cowards for days
With the city standing still
Waiting with baited breath
As it witnessed the gun battles

One was taken alive
And the others were taken out
And their lives and deeds
Would be forgotten about

Courage triumphed over terror
Albeit at a cost
With lives of bravehearts
And innocents lost

But they did not die in vain
Unlike the cowards they fought
For even in times of darkness
Unity among us they brought

Now six years have passed
And the memory of that day lives on
Lest we forget the sacrifices
And the lives that were laid down

We have grown stronger
And it is time we proved so
Terror will never get away

And its time this it knows

The Woes of a Star Gazer

I searched the sky for those countless stars
That once adorned the night sky
Millions of those sparkling wonders
Open to the naked eye.

I am a star gazer
And I stare at the sky so blue
For this I am a fool
And I have a message for you.

Those stars, the residents of the sky
Hang out from an inky blue dome
As their neighbours try to reach out to them
The ones who call Earth their home

But now they remain hidden
With a handful rarely in sight
Masked by dense smokescreens
And outdone by the city lights

And now it gets only worse
With nights that look like days
Those twinkling stars so hard to see
As if they were spirited away.

But they are very much there
We just have to clear the haze
And dim a little those city lights
And resume our star gaze

For now also the visible moon
Searches the night sky
For her companions who
Beyond our ignorance lie

But it is a problem difficult to solve
And it continually grows
Along with it increases
A star-gazer’s woes

The Call Of the Trees

We are the Gods who give you life
but we can't take it away
We are the colour that extends to you
in a land so dull and grey.

We are mute and still to you
for from us sounds are never heard
But our leaves rustle in that gentle breeze
sharing the comfort of unspoken words.

We give out the very air you breathe
and take in what you expel
You would have guessed who we are
for that is what the title tells.

We are mute according to you
so definitely aren't here to plead
For We are the source of life
and it is us that You need.

Since reason has failed to work on you
try imagining this scene
Where the World is a barren wasteland
without a hint of green.

It is dying and your machines
help you to linger on for a while
With Earth's resources used up
and land terribly infertile.

Leaving behind an orphaned Earth
you too shall fade away
Losing the Earth to colossal waste
withered and decayed.

The laws are made with none to follow
and dates to conventions set
As the clocks now tick away
with none of the deadlines met.

A dystopian future awaits you
for you do as you please
If you refuse to wake up to listen
to THE CALL OF THE TREES.

The Flute Seller

She played her flute by the main road
as everyone stood to listen
Swaying like trees to gentle breeze
to this soulful musician.

Her long, slender fingers
ran smoothly on the flute
With the music flowing like magic
as it left everything mute.

She spun tales out of thin air
as her music broke the shackles of misery
Casting a spell on the listeners
with notes bursting to be free.

She appeared out of no where
and came every afternoon
placing her bag of flutes down
and playing a divine tune.

Her music was a prayer to God
a heart felt plea to our souls
It brought heaven to us
and made the incomplete whole.

But once the music stopped
everyone went their way
no one buying a single flute
only to listen to her play.

Still she smiled and continued to play
as her sack of flutes would lie
Her music moving people to tears
and still none would buy.

I stood on the balcony
and listened to her play
Feeling like a patron of arts
I own twenty of her flutes today.

Her 'show' was booked for free
at her coins were tossed
Barely selling flutes
for the flute seller she was.

One day she looked up at me
and gave a bright smile
My heart fluttered and skipped
and stayed thus a while.

The lady had a gift
a gift from our divine maker
Her music was transcendent
but her flutes had no takers.

This went on for months
and then one day she wasn't there
The unnamed flute seller
had vanished into thin air.

Maybe she just gave up
and continued to move on
But the World stood still no more
for her music was gone.

I was afraid to know
of what happened to her
I never tried to look
for the flute seller.

We never exchanged words
for there was nothing to say
I wait to listen
to listen to her play.

Madras to Chennai-375 glorious years

August 22nd 1639
a story was beginning to be told
India's first metropolis came into being
With cultures of new and old.

The city is a boiling pot
that tends to watering mouths
With tastes of sweet and spice
and flavours of the South.

Chennai has various names
under the rising Sun
Called the 'Detroit of India'
the wheels on which India's auto sector runs.

Movies(Kollywood) are a craze in this city
with Sir Rajnikanth as a Demi-God
People throng to cinema halls
which at times are very odd.

Where technology dots its landscape
it is a flourishing hub for the Arts
Its World famous Carnatic Music fest
is celebrated in different World parts.

A famed seat for learning
and a frontrunner in medicine
The city boasts of modernity
and various valued traditions.

Chennai has the Marina beach
with its endless line of Golden Sand
With the cool, gurgling waves leave
and rush forth to meet the land.

The rock temples of Chennai
have withstood the ravages of time
 Tributes to Gods and artisans
Marvelously carved and sublime.

And monuments of the British era
are relics very unique
which take us into another world
where the British empire was at its peak.

The city came up in climates
of terrible sweltering heat
Infested with mosquitoes on a rampage
as the rains and heat meet!

This city has yielded icons
people with brilliant minds
people who changed history's course
and left the World behind.

Chennai is ultramodern
with the Madras of the old
375 years of an interesting story
with numerous new chapters to unfold.

Chennai maybe a city
but it has India at its heart
Situated in the South of India
and draws people from various parts.

Hopes Revived-The gift of independence

As i struggle to get to work
and reach office on time
Reading the newspaper filled
with issues of rising crime.

As i break a couple of traffic rules
driving and attending calls
Cursing and honking at other cars
as traffic snarls and crawls.

Selling Indian flags from car to car
a poor boy goes about
'India is free, so take your flags,'
he continuously shouts.

He comes to my car and taps on the glass
as the  i roll it down
Wondering about the sea of poverty
and in how India drowns.

I think about politicians looting us
the people in need
India is progressing today
but in corruption it continues to lead.

A piece of news catches my eye
of crimes against women
'Why can't the government protect
them,so that these crimes don't happen.'

The next page talks of separatists
as through India they draw lines
'To whom does India belong?
Your religion or mine?'

Neighbouring countries mock and taunt
on a thing we never agree
Ceasefires violated and boundaries scarred
'Was this the cost of becoming free?'

The traffic moves at snail's pace
and the signal, a beckoning green
But i haven't moved an inch
and red is already seen.

So back to our newspaper now
as pockets are eaten by prices
'Our country is in doldrums now
with crisis over crisis.'

As i curse our Government
the traffic divides now
As cars move to the side of roads
an ambulance to pass, they allow.

A man steps out of his car
and he directs the traffic with great patience
Our hopes are revived and that is
the Gift of Independence.

India will get better
even though a lot has to be done
If we the people be the change
half our battle is won.

The first rains of Monsoon

From the balcony i overlooked
the narrow, dusty street
With blaring horns and cussing drivers
adding to the dust and heat.

Turning my head towards the sky
the afternoon eyes flashing my eyes
I retreated into the shade of the flat
risking blindness otherwise.

My flat burned like a furnace
with summer at its peak
The weather forecast gone horribly
wrong, predicting the first rains this week!

A few hours went by
as my body soaked in sweat
Desperately praying for a little relief
in the form of an early sunset!

And then a cool shadow greeted the earth
as clouds gathered up fast
Shielding the Sun completely from view
The sky completely overcast.

A gale now blew with force
as trees swayed and thrashed
The sky hellbent on unleashing its fury
as powerful bolt flashed.

A loud boom as thunder followed suit
and temperatures steadily dropped
And then another thunderous roar
and everything stopped!

And then a fresh burst of torrential rain
this season's very first
Greeting the parched Earth
and quenched its terrible thirst.

The traffic snarls at night
still continuing from noon
was washed away from memories
as we welcomed those First Rains of Monsoon.

War has come

So quiet , so peaceful
the World we find
As soldiers fight out there
behind enemy lines.

Friends become enemies
and patriots are put to test
For the country they love
Another they have to detest.

A horde of savages fight
and rivers of blood flow
Peace screams for help
as War strikes its fatal blow.

The hounds of War let loose
as they spread like wild fire
Releasing Pain and Suffering
the two children, War sired.

War rips apart a country
relations painfully torn
and Death reins supreme
with Survivors left to mourn.

The Sky looks down on us
and hears our painful cries
To fulfill War's bloodlust
countless sacrificed.

We gain nothing from War
and what Peace gains is lost
And War's extolls a heavy price
as we now pay the cost.

As our peaceful quiet is disturbed
by the thundering of War drums
As we now witness carnage and death
we know War Has Come.

The Call Of The Blue Bird

A bright blue speck on the grey horizon
a sight at which i beheld my eyes
A welcome relief from the dull city sights
That Blue Bird in the grey sky.

Its periodic,recurring,ringing cry,
an exhilarating tune at the city's heart
Listening and going back to our roots
back to being Mother Nature's part.

Its bright blue wings a beautiful sight
a blood red beak to behold
Its chest a color hard to miss
which i would say yellowish gold.

The bird would perch, oblivious to the noise
as i trained my camera lens
Straining to capture that perfect shot
 located at a good distance.

Despite its appearance, difficult
to find, a bird watcher now i was
Waiting for it to turn up
and then clicking its random shots.

Listening to its unique call
i would expect and wait for hours
Praying it not be scared away
by construction and honking cars!

And then came a day i was waiting for
as on my window it showed
I rushed in to get the camera
and thanking for the chance bestowed!

And as i got the camera
a cracker burst so loud was heard
That frightened away the poor thing
and off went that Blue Bird!

I waited for months to come
but that call again i never heard
That call which connected me to it
The Call Of The Blue Bird.

With those Sad, Lonely eyes of mine.

She would walk through that door
and set everything right
My heart comforted just
by her sight.

Her existence was for granted
She would always be there
I could always let go
for she would take care.

But 'forever' never lasts
and those days had to end
Where she went i would
never know or understand.

Under the illusion i was
of being thoroughly 'self made'
But she was always by my side
and soon those memories too shall fade.

Nothing lasts forever
and soon i will have to move on
Those days of togetherness
those days forever gone.

She was my soul mate
the better half of mine
A missing part of my heart
for which i shall pine.

Now everyone cries around me
and i am totally confused
Fifty years of life gone
in those deathly moments so few.

The next phase of my life awaits
and again it shall never be fine
As i look forward to the unknown
With those Sad, Lonely Eyes of mine.

The journey of a Soul.

The body for a soul is a makeshift home
a home in the living where it dwells
It is like a crab which keeps moving
the body is but a shell.

The soul has a time to stay
and then a time to go
But these times are undecided
times it may never know.

In life when it does good
Heaven it creates where it dwells
And in a thousand lives when it does bad
It creates a thousand living hells.

The soul is a gypsy which travels on
a traveler without a goal
The journey is all that matters
for the ever lasting soul.

A soul is immortal and pure
in it the truth is met
Everything else is an infinite illusion
as are life and death.

The soul, never weighed by material
to be free it is a must
The soul neither begins or ends
and a body born, one day is dust.

The soul is a piece of God
and Him it shall one day meet
And then for the next cycle to come
with Him, it shall be complete.

For that it goes through life and death
they are what make the cycle whole
And this cycle shall go on Forever
which is the JOURNEY OF A SOUL.

HOSTAGE

A crisis has occured
so very far away
For our loved ones out there
we continue to pray.

As fear grips us for
 as the unknown strike
Giving us a taste of
what terror feels like.

For these men fight
for a cause insane
They are brainwashed
and their hearts inhumane.

They are cowards who
stab and attack from behind
They are a blot on their faith
their religion maligned.

We cut one head
and ten seem to emerge
It sacrifices followers
with its leaders at large!

The World is united
and it shall fight back
As they prepare to launch
another cowardly attack!

And now a nation is in trouble
as they spread carnage
To further their means
they hold Peace, hostage.

The Lone Soldier

The lone soldier tread lightly
as the enemy lie in wait
Taken alive was not a choice
and Survival against Fate.

He clutched his rifle in position
with a prayer on his lips
His eye caught movement
around the trigger tightened his grip.

Suddenly something whizzed past him
on the earth fell a drop of his blood
A deafening sound and the impact
a large hole in the soft mud!

The shrapnel lodged in his arm
and still he maintained his resistance
a gun battle ensued as the bullets
missed him by a distance!

The enemy was larger in number,
as blood thirsty as they were
To protect his motherland
courage he began to muster!

And then when he ran out of ammunition,
with a knife in his hand
He crept and sneaked to the enemy
making his final stand.

But victory would never be his
as the enemy surrounded him
At a time when his body gave up
and his condition grim.

He died a martyr,
he fought till his dying breath
He fought for his motherland
and became one with her in death!

All Those Thoughts Were Gone

It was forever late again
as i waited on the platform
The trains followed this rigid practice
as if some unknown norm!

The station alive, inch by inch
lacking the commodity, space
The sea of humanity thundering
on, at an incredibly feverish pace!

From this thunder i heard it
heard that melodious golden voice
So pure and so filled with truth
it bought to a standstill the noise!

A little girl, dressed in rags
directing a man, blind
As his voice brought about inner peace
touching hearts and minds.

But the spell lasted only two minutes
broken by coins thrown down
The crowds footsteps heard again
with that irritating thundering sound!

I stood there watching those two
pickup those fallen coins some how
Thoughts of helping them came
and i had to help them now!

But then the crowds direction changed
swaying to the new come train's horn
And i suddenly got onto that train
AND ALL THOSE THOUGHTS WERE GONE!

A tale of how our motherland went from one to three!

This is a tale spanning ages
of great lives and death
Of how we struggled against fate
and our true destinies we met!

Strangled and choked by forces
both divisive and foreign
These shackles broken by the struggle,
sacrifices of countless men and women!

But before she could witness
freedom's rising Sun
Cries of war sounded in the air
threatening our Unity as One!

She saw her children fight each other
as villages burned, millions killed
As they bayed for the others blood,
blood of innocents spilled!

Rivers of blood choked her veins
as she was cut by divisive forces
For years she had withstood them
but now they had run their courses!

A part of her was hacked
on the altar of these wars
Boundaries drawn on her
one her numerous battle scars!

Now she had become two
but more wars were to come
Spreading like a plague in her
for the sake of Freedom!

Ages later the wounds of
the past were opened up again
Two would become three now
as forever she would be maimed!

She became free for us
but if we care to see
Her scars still fresh on the map
As SHE WENT FROM ONE to THREE!

Excruciating pain!

I lie now on my own
as good as dead
An object unmovable by life
stuck to his wretched bed!

I lived a life of dreams
reality all of them made
But now they are just memories
as i feel my life fade!

If only they had got what they wanted
alas, this cruel fate of mine
If only they had stuck around
I may have been just fine!

But here i am all alone with
death as a companion of mine
As life and death so close
by, just a fine line!

This excruciating pain subsides
it is already so death like
I only pray for those poor doctors
for the reasons they went on strike!

Known, fated encounters

We saw each other in an auction
a radiant smile on her face shown
In her eyes only i resided
her smile for me alone!

I knew it was love at first sight
her smile had driven me insane
For i only looked forward
to seeing her again!

I did see her again, in a
ball room party this time
Her beauty stunningly ravishing
but still subtle and sublime!

I tried to look away, but
her eyes caught mine
A brighter smile flashed
much more radiant and divine!

I knew now for sure
and was swept of my feet
For i knew she was mine
and my heart skipped a beat!

I moved towards her
but she moved away
The courage i had gathered
vanished to my dismay!

But wine was always there
and in one giant swig
My distress gone up in smoke
its effects strong and big!

I marched to her and said
'My lady, your number please'
She stared and said 'Quit stalking
me pervert or i shall call the police!

My drunk head thought
Was i really stalking her
Or were these really known,
FATED ENCOUNTERS!

The tale of an orphan boy who became a great hero!

Located within the scenic hills
lies a beautiful,little village
Dating hundreds of years back
lost within history's numerous pages!

In this village there lived
an unwanted orphan child
When the land needed him most
its fate he would decide!

Nobody knew to whom he was born
and he never had a place to live
Surviving on whatever he found
and leftovers what others had to give!

The land was terrorized by
bandits, notorious in name
Cruel and merciless in motives
top predators of their game!

Their sight now on this village
as others they looted and burned
This news spread like wild fire
and of this the villagers learned!

A meeting was called but no
defensive plans were made
They knew time was running
out before the bandits' raid!

Night fell and the bandits reached,
a deserted village they found
They let loose on the village
their vicious pack of hounds!

The hounds roared and caught
a scent and whimpered and howled
A smoke extremely pungent
and extremely foul!

Stones were being thrown and
pebbles were being shot
In this barrage the bandits
were caught!

Screams of pain and howls
from burns shot up at the sky
Seeing all this smiling, the boy
  upon a tree branch high!

The bandits kept running about
their horses being reined in
Thud, they fell into a trap
into the deep ground within!

The battle was up, the bandits
were caught, the villagers in shock
The orphan boy for the coming
months became the village talk!

Years passed, he became the chief
of numerous villages around
His rule peaceful and prosperous
where greatness was found!

He never had a family 'today'
but he had many for him 'tomorrow'
SO here is 'the tale of an orphan
 who became a GREAT HERO'!

And people say i cannot see!

As i walk in the temple
i can hear the poor outside
As poverty rages and devotees leave
'Please,i have'nt eaten for days' they cried!

I walk on my way back
having done some good
Giving those people in need
some amount of money and food.

But as i walk, the roads uneven
i suddenly trip on the road
Horns blare behind me in a hurry
and so many abuses are heard!

A kind soul helps me up
and asks, 'Are you fine'
I smile back and nod
as i wipe out dirt and grime!

I am on the main road
and a traffic cop takes a bribe
The motorist mumbles words
hard to describe!

I am about to reach when
a man shouts out
'I am unemployed, i cannot live
as offices push me about'!

I have heard enough and reply
'You should decide better
and see life is sweet, especially
to those,who are go-getters'!

I have come to the place
to vote i have reached
But no body seems there
so no line to be breached!

I am heckled by a man
and back i shout
People gather at my voice
both strong and loud!

I have seen corruption,sexism
unemployment and poverty
And people who notice my eyes
say I CANNOT SEE!

Indian Political Tribe!

They administer and legislate
and seemingly sit down to debate
We vote and bring them to
power in this sorry state!

They shout and brawl
causing progress to halt
They destroy the parliament
for no apparent fault!

They come asking for
 votes and election seats
We fall for their 'promises'
to do impossible feats!

They take our votes and
corruption rages on
Before the scams are exposed
crores of money gone!

They never speak of reforms
and progress
They only malign the opposition
which definitely does 'impress'!

They are present on our
doorsteps during election times
They disappear with money and
power without leaving a dime!

Now even criminals sit on
those dignified seats
As now crime and power
perfectly meet!

Do not allow them your
votes for shameful bribes
Beware the antics of
this political tribe!

Our votes,our rights and duties
 are terms which describe
The way we improve India
and THE INDIAN POLITICAL TRIBE!

I was Born Rich!

I was born rich,with comforts
anything i wished for i got
I had everything others prayed
for and usually sought!

On my 13th birthday i threw a
  party my friends never forgot
And the older i grew my mother
on me still continued to dot!

I could study any
course i ever wanted
And the fees for it by my
 mother was eventually granted!

I never liked the house chores
so the servant would do
Never to see the servant's face
i eventually grew!

I  never saw my father
but i never needed him
When my mother and her riches
could fulfill my every whim!

I went to buy the latest phone
and roamed around the new mall
At the food court i saw, mother
working at a fast food stall!

Struggling part times and her job
to cater to all my damands
Fulfilling my life by sacrificing hers
making it rich and grand!

I cried when she came home
just right at dawn
To my crying questions her answer was
"I BECAME RICH AFTER YOU WERE BORN"!

Corruption-We are being looted

We are being looted
before our eyes
By a system,that contains
various corrupt ties!

The people we choose
to get our jobs done
In turn ask us to
pay astronomical sums!

The money we pay and the
services we get
Are far below  the
expectations we have set!

The few corrupt officials
keep getting rich
And the poor who pay,
into debts get ditched!

Into Swiss Banks, crores of
black money flows
And 'India is a poor country'
that is said so!

We sell our conscience by
bribing these people
Our one 'NO' across the
system can send ripples!

And  the citizens of India
should support change's waves
We can earn and progress
far more than we 'gave'!

So corruption is a curse
which definitely kills
The neccessity to spread
honesty and goodwill!

This practice out of our
lives should be quickly booted
For because of this
Corruption-We are being Looted!

Chirping,chirping all the way!

Sparrows here, sparrows there
sparrows,sparrows everywhere
And now they seem so rare
for we really do not care!

The sparrows now are
no where in sight
For they are dying out
in broad daylight!

The cell towers and radiation
are killing these little birds
When was their chirping
by us last heard?

The sparrows are dying
for our latest smartphones
Their many species extinct
for this reason alone!

The sparrows are a part
of nature's voice
Their chirping disappeared
in the city's noise!

One day all of them shall
be gone
And they shall never see a
new dawn!

But we can still save these
sparrows today
And soon they shall be
chirping,chirping all, the way!

Poetry

Poetry is a road to the heart
it is where the journey starts
To rhyme it you use your head
with all the words your heart has said!

Your heart and soul are into it
as you read it bit by bit
A whole new world, created by it
where everything perfectly fits!

Poets write, with the touch of the pen
waiting for their readers to read it then
Letting their feeling flow with it
magic with verses closely knit!

They write about everything under the Sun
with it they have their share of fun
During leisure when they begin to write
their heart is in a place very right!

A topic to write always comes around
if you search, it is always found
From the universe you derive inspiration
line by line an entire creation!

Poetry is art some would say
it is here definitely to stay
It is music for the soul
that is poetry's true goal!

Happy World Poetry Day!

On our world we sit and debate!

The temperatures are rising, the
warmest days and nights till date
Global warming  has struck
while we sit and debate!

Our waters and soil,polluted
leaving in our mouths,sour tastes
They keep getting poisoned
while we sit and debate!

Disasters are striking to and fro
their scales of destruction,great
With properties and lives get lost
we sit still and debate!

 Our animals and trees dying
and are left in their pathetic states
As we cut and hunt them down
we sit here and debate!

Our resources are vanishing
with increasing population rates
As consumerism still rages on
we sit here and debate!

Our cities and villages,diseased
are facing a terrible fate
For toxic wastes just lie around
as we sit still and debate!

When shall we all act
and till when shall we wait
Our world is in danger here
as on it we sit still and debate!

Our beautiful world is losing
and it maybe too late
Its fragility maybe destroyed
as WE SIT AND DEBATE!

An Ode to my life-Cheers to me!

I sit in my ultra posh office
upon the city i look
From the 21st floor and reflecting
back the years that it took!

I am 27 years of age
from birth,a lucky one
With abilities and looks
a genius,God's masterpiece done!

The ranker of my school by twelve
the top scorer in college by sixteen
I  went to the great Harvard
on scholarship i mean!

Four years by my tech venture,
earning lots of dollars and rupees
More money was to come
in various, different currencies!

My career reached rocking heights
and Google bought from me
Of course with a lot of money
more than any one had seen!

Since i had nothing to do
to India i came back
I started a new venture
and greatness, was back on track!

Recession hit the markets
for my rivals, too much to bear
But i was to great for it
another success story to share!

The markets and media love me
everyone knows my name
A business magnate of power,
money and international fame!

I look at this city now
a dream my life seems
My Boss shouts from his cabin
and there ends the Day dream!

We,The Animals

I tread on the forest floor
so quiet,so green
And a noise shoots up in the air
a gunshot's it seems!

Upon hearing it i flee
thats what i have been taught
That if humans are here
it is either caught or gunshots!

In fleeing alike both animals and birds
our cries of help totally unheard
For humans cannot understand
as our fear knows no words!

Poached for our body parts
for 'quality'leather our skins it is
What was made for our survival
solves your daily 'fashion'crisis!

I saw them taking Bear skin
it was surely my mother's
Her life to protect mine
I could not even mourn her!

We survive and hunt for food
simply for fun,us you hunt
Showing of our heads hung on
walls along with your hunting guns!

You have human rights if
you are being tested on
And what of our rights when
due to you are lives are gone!

There is a balance in nature
due to which we all are linked
And as your numbers increase
we shall go extinct!

You were never meant to kill
and to torture and enslave us at will
We are not smart but still have hearts
WE,THE ANIMALS

I know how i shall die
and what shall happen to me
Stuffed shall be my lifeless body
IN MUSEAMS FOR EVEYONE TO SEE!

You claim yourselves to 'Reason'
for Man is greater still
Than use 'Reason' for God's sake
and for us animals!

The Man in the Bowler Hat!

He knew that as soon he entered,he would be the centre of attraction! And why not,for he was a count of great stature and power.Over and above that he was born with looks which could easily have put a film star to shame! His perfectly chiseled body and radiant face was a thing that The Gods had gifted him and his impeccable manners were a result of his high polished upbringing!
As he entered  the OO-LA-LAS from the women and the jealous macho glances from the men were a routine! The stately Duke who was the host himself welcomed him!Count Aegis of Greece had an air about him which could even bring a king to his knees!

As he reached the Gambling tables,Lady Luck herself smitten by him brought him all the riches on the table just like his annual visit to Monte Carlo! But even though his well brushed Armani suit with his expensive hand crafted Berluti shoes were a la mode the star attraction in his attire was a Bowler Hat specifically made with his family crest on it with a small but exquisite ruby at its center in full display! This along with the Man was a combination which stole the thunder from then on!He ended up 'promising' almost all the women(unmarried and married)of dates he knew he would never keep but what was the harm in dreaming!Fine wine flowed like streams and the soft, intoxicating music from the orchestra carried all the guests to paradise! The Party of the Duke was as stunning as a bright starlit sky thanks to the chandeliers and heavy, beautiful jewelry worn by the women! While the gentlemen were busy discussing and making new business alliances the ladies were either discussing the latest gossip or outrageously flirting with Aegis!

The Party was going well into the night and thanks to the charms of Aegis the ladies and gentlemen were having the time of their lives!Time passed by quickly and due to all the 'spirits' the guests did not notice the center chandelier swinging wildly just above the Count's head!It soon came crashing down with all the glass splinters flying around as darkness spread! And after a moment a loud crash and a THUD was heard! The lights came back within moments as to the horror of people Aegis was lying in a dizzy near the entrance. He had collided with a short, portly man who wearing an ill-fitting tweed suit was searching for his wig and hat to cover his balding head!

But the horror was due to the bright, expensive jewels strewn all over Aegis and as he tried to rise more of them fell out!And within moments he was apprehended with him hurling abuses and insults on how did the guards have the audacity to touch him!Among this panic spread by the women to the anger of the men,the short, portly man who did not belong to this scene said,"HELLO,EVERYONE I AM COUNT AEGIS FROM GREECE"!!!!

Happy Women's Day

They work equally to men
today and still some more
Going home to handle family
with an infinite energy store!

Listeners they are and of
course healers too
Heading into a new day
with spirit and vigor renewed!

With their duties being done
and now their rights at hand
They are new leaders at the
top of the World they stand!

They are known as the fairer
sex and the better halves
Problems do not lead to wars
but rather to peace talks!

Resilient in heart and
very sharp at mind
The doorstep of success
they definitely find!

Special people they are
to force them who would dare
The Sun of Hope shall rise
everywhere!

With Intention cast in iron
brave new steps they take
Their Destinies they them
selves shall make!

They are a force to reckon
with as they pave new ways
Wish you all a very
"HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY"!

The police woman!

An old woman at the dead of night
in a lonely alley was walking by
But as she went on she met
some thugs letting out a shrill cry!

But it was pitch dark with none
around,as she feared for her life
The thugs demanding her valuables
brandishing a knife!

No one was to be found and the
thugs with a twisted smile
That the police was slow here
and would take a while!

As the old woman cried with the
valuables parting from her
And suddenly some sound from
steps getting louder!

A police woman had come by
with a startled look
A new twist had come as their
plan now took!

The thugs now shocked but
still confident of their plan
As how would this cop take
on their whole gang!

For  she possessed no gun
and no weapon whatsoever
After getting rid of her
their last obstacle over!

And then she  laughed a loud
 one too,shocking them again
She told them that with backup
coming,standing there was insane!

They were were scared but not sure
and a horn did blow
In their terror they ran leaving the
old woman and loot also!

After seeing them gone
she let out a big sigh of relief
She walked the old woman
home looking out for other thieves!

The old woman remarked
"Without backup a great feat
considering that you work
in theater,your acting still neat"!!!

Here comes the Rani of Jhansi!

With her sword flashing in her hand
riding like the wind her horse
Its thundering hooves kicking up a
storm truly like Nature's force!

Cutting through the enemy lines
her opponents in fear scatter
Their weapons do not faze her
for they do not matter!

With courage greater than any man
and strength totally unmatched
Her enemies start retreating
a rare moment of victory snatched!

But how long will it last
for her army of shields and swords
Against the British Indian guns and canons
serving their British Lords!

A contract with her motherland
the British she shall send
Back to where they came from
bringing their rule to an end!

Defeat is inevitable in this battle
and still she battles on
For the WAR for freedom shall
continue,long after she has gone!

The Rani will give up her life
her mother land she shall not give up
India shall remember this daughter
who for freedom never stopped!

No man can take her down
even their guns fail to kill
With her child tied on her back
the battle rages on still!

Despite a losing battle,casualties
and her injuries grave
They cannot kill this woman
their soldiers cannot be saved!

But this battle shall cause her
fall,a martyr she shall be
Her name shall live on
praised by both friend and enemy!

But for now the British shall
be alert and be driven crazy
For beware this tigress in battle
HERE COMES THE RANI OF JHANSI!

Inferno's Curse!

Abandon all hope ye who enter
journeying towards the satanic center
Listening to The Hell's Verse
and falling under Inferno's Curse !

Awaiting thee is your impending doom
as spirits and demons above you loom
As it resounds with hellish screams
with fire, sin and torture it teams!

A sinner you are anyone can tell
coming for you are the spirits of hell
For on sin The Devil feeds
and you reek of your evil deeds!

A horrific and terrifying fate awaits thee
for through your soul He can see
An eternal cell in hell you shall get
In Him your punishment you have met!

The howling spirits and Dark flames
are just the beginning of Hell's games
For the real trouble for you shall start
when these flames burn like poison darts!

And the levels of Hell shall punish thee
and never shall you ever break free
For the Satan shall have you immersed
as one of INFERNO'S ETERNALLY CURSED!

The story behind THE RAINBOW!

Long long ago when
the World was newly made
It was dull and colorless
and like that it stayed!

Until one day on his usual rounds
God saw this colorless planet
And he decided he had to do
something with it!

So up he went to the heavens
and called a meeting of Angels
And even invited the famed
wise men of of various fables!

Various suggestion cropped up
and a heated debate broke out
Down below on Earth the people
could hear them shout!

This is what we call "Thunder"
today in our beautiful world
As the debate heated up so much
that Heaven was being burned!

So God sad to see this fight
created Water in pain
It flooded the heavens and
fell down as the beautiful "Rain"!

The heated debate was quelled
but no solution was found
This meeting had raged for nothing
with no decision sound!

And then a small girl cried out
let all the colors loose
When they fall as a steady stream
the World itself will choose!

So God with Light cut all the colors
thus caused a color dividing
Because the light was seen first
it was called Lightening!

The Earth chose all the colors
as the colors flow
It got colored as it is today and
this is the STORY OF THE RAINBOW!
